About Us
The Consortium, Inc. (doing business as The Mental Health Consortium
or TMHC) is a private not-for-profit behavioral healthcare provider
sponsored organization (PSO) that provides a variety of Administrative
Services Organization (ASO) products and functions for both public
and commercial purchasers.
Because we were created by the current 29 Community Mental Health
Centers of Kansas, we are sensitive and knowledgeable of the strengths
and needs of traditional safety-net mental health and substance
abuse providers.
We have the experience and technical competencies to position traditional
safety-net community mental health centers and substance abuse agencies
for either regional or statewide vendor opportunities with both
public and/or commercial purchasers.
We can provide all the functions or products provided by either
privately held or publicly traded Managed Behavioral Healthcare
Organizations without the profit motive or high administrative costs.
As a result, more of the premium dollars goes to the community mental
health center for direct service to consumers. In many cases, savings
that result from our efficient management are reinvested back to
the community mental health center for expanded service delivery.
